Swanky competition

IT’S ALL OVER!
Our amazing Hambrough competition is now CLOSED and we are currently choosing a winner. The lucky person will enjoy dinner a la carte at the swanky Hambrough PLUS a night in one of their fabulous rooms

So who will it be? Our judge is the one and only David Thornton, the Chief Executive of the Island’s official tourist board Visit Isle of Wight. David has introduced many exciting initiatives to Ventnor, including the world-class dinosaur trail and app, the dino bus, and the groovy new information point. We will announce his decision on this page and via @LoveVentnorUK very soon.
In the meantime, check out the shortlist…
I love Ventnor because…

Claire Sells @splotdesigns

me a home
Mary Gouge @GougeMary
…it’s such a lovely place to visit. I don’t frequent Ventnor often, but a visit is always satisfying – even in the rain (more excuses for a hot chocolate at the Met bar, or finding goodies at Random Remnants!). The town has an air of nostalgia about it, there’s definitely something special about Ventnor.
Emily Galt @emily_galt

Steven Scutchings

It’s not hard to see why the Victorians loved Ventnor
as old fashioned charm and a modern holiday go arm-in-arm.

…it’s sunshine-on-sea, in an area of outstanding natural beauty
Fresh Ventnor crab is a must for me
At Steephill Cove overlooking the sea, I can indulge in a delicious afternoon cream tea

Ventnor’s charm is really picture-postcard
With a stylish cliff top hotel that’s 5 AA starred
Gill Rigluth

- The prize is for 2 people – dinner a la carte (at the Hambrough’s discretion) and then a night in one of their beautiful rooms (no travel, sorry).
- The judge’s decision is final, no messing about.
- The Hambrough will work with the winner to find a date that suits everyone – but they will have the final say on this.
