Local news

Look out for The South Wight Chronicle, in stores around Ventnor every Thursday. We usually pick it up at Wendy’s. This is Ventnor’s very own newsletter and we’re lucky to have such a handy source of local info. It’s a great read, and packed full of listings and features, giving the inside story on everything from the Winter Gardens to the ducks in the park. Check it out.

Ventnor Town Council - find out what they’re up to (a lot, actually).

On The Wight – island wide news and info. They know their stuff & we like their style.

Isle of Wight County Press – essential reading for the local news fanatic. ‘Has anyone seen a womble?’ was a recent page 3 classic.

South Wight TV – our local internet channel with fun vids about events in our little corner of paradise.

Visit Isle of Wight – the official tourist board for the Island with great taste in seaside resorts (they love Ventnor).

Ventnor Enhancement Fund - going above and beyond to bring you this beautiful town.

Crazy stuff

Ventnor’s known for its fabulous fish… you can see them swimming at the pond (opposite The Pond Café), at Ventnor Park and of course served up on plates throughout the town. You can also see some fishes in action below. Move your mouse around and they’ll follow you hopefully, in case you’ve got some tasty food with you. Then just click to ‘feed’ the fish. It’s strangely therapeutic. Come to mummy, little fishy!
