New website launched for Ventnor

The Love Ventnor website has had a summer makeover for 2013 – and we hope you like the new-look site. It’s been created by local design agency, Words&Stuff, in collaboration with the Ventnor Business Association. As well as a shiny new website, Words&Stuff created a smart new logo, as part of a rebranding exercise for the Island’s sunniest spot.

Love the new www.LoveVentnor.co.uk local information site, a positive force for good on the Isle of Wight.”

You may have read about Love Ventnor in The South Wight Chronicle (6 July 2013) as we were front page news (thanks, guys!). The Editor reported: “I really believe it’s one of the most positive outcomes for Ventnor I’ve seen in a long time. Take a look. I’m sure you’ll agree.”

Island media giants, On The Wight, were also kind enough to write a feature about the new site, commenting: “We love the Ventnor Business Association’s new website, Love Ventnor.” Go on, check out the article now, and add your own comments if you like!

Fast fact: During the first month (June 2013) 1,312 visitors looked at 18,303 pages on the new Love Ventnor website… not bad, eh?

Ann Hutchins from the Windsor Carlton, co-ordinated the website development along with Matt Whishaw from The Island Wine Company, who thought up the Love Ventnor concept. Matt and Ann worked alongside Words&Stuff’s Catherine Bassindale and Lindsay Robertson to make a website that we hope will appeal to visitors and local people and showcase the best that this beautiful town has to offer.

A spokesperson for the Ventnor Business Association confirmed that the site has been getting ‘excellent feedback’ from existing members – and many more have signed up since the site was launched in June. “We are extremely pleased with the site and would like to thank Lindsay and Catherine from Words&Stuff for all their hard work – it has been great to work with such a professional team”, she said. “We think it captures the Ventnor we know and love perfectly!”

Sun, sea, sand and the downs – the perfect colour palette for Ventnor.

Catherine, from Words&Stuff, says: “It’s been great for us to get involved in promoting this very special and sunny little town. We’re lucky enough to live and work here – and want to show the world what a beautiful place it is, with interesting shops selling everything from chocolate pebbles to Honda motorbikes. There are also some lovely places to eat, whether you want a Michelin starred meal or fish and chips on the front. And there are some fabulous places to stay too. So far, the feedback from locals has been fantastic. We also have a very lively Twitter account @LoveVentnorUK which is like the website’s naughty little sister – so come and join the online party!”
