Random CreaturesRandom Creatures Creative Circus of Magick and Mischief – this anarchic collective ‘yarn bombed’ Ventnor for last year’s festival, decorating trees, bollards and lamp posts with their fabulous knitted creations.

Ventnor’s festival by the sea – a fabulous four day celebration of drama, music, film, comedy, literature, visual and performing arts.

How about a spring break with lots to see and do? From 2nd – 5th May this year Ventnor provides the backdrop for the annual Isle of Arts Festival. Suitable for the whole family, the festival includes big name shows, performances by local artists, walks, talks, films, artistic workshops and more.

Gardener Monty Don, comedian Rich Hall, poet Roger McGough, the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain and Tenors UnLimited are just some of the events lined up. Bass player Kyle Eastwood (son of screen legend Clint) brings his jazz band to town as part of a short UK tour, and writer and agony aunt Virginia Ironside tells us that “NO! She does not need reading glasses”!

Children can enjoy a treasure trail, Diary of a Wimpy Kid show, puppet making, paint your own dinosaur or a Postman Pat tea party, while the whole family can join in the Utterly Butterly Ukulele Project, a fun workshop that teaches young and old to make a “uke” from a plastic tub, a few pieces of wood and some fishing line and teaches you how to play it too….

Between events, explore Ventnor’s many quirky little shops or enjoy a meal overlooking the sea. All Festival events are individually priced to allow you to pick your ideal programme, and everything is happening in and around the town centre. To find somewhere to stay, look no further than Love Ventnor’s STAY page, where you’ll find accommodation to suit just about anyone!
