Clean sweep of awards for Ventnor beach

Ventnor is officially one of the best places in the country to swim, surf or dip your toe in the water. The sea off Ventnor Bay (which is a Blue Flag beach) consistently achieves the Marine Conservation Society’s quality standard for clear and unpolluted water. As a result, it’s been recommended in the Good Beach Guide for the past five consecutive years, most recently in April 2013.

Eight other beaches across the island were also awarded this accolade in 2013: Totland Bay, Colwell Bay, Cowes, Seagrove Bay at Seaview, Whitecliff Bay at Bembridge, Yaverland, Sandown and Compton Bay.

All of the island’s beaches achieved at least the minimum grade this year. So come on in… the water’s lovely!
