The story so far

The story so far….
Ventnorville first came to life in 2014 and is the result of the combined efforts of many local people and groups, coordinated by the Ventnor Business Association. With events, food and craft markets, Santa’s Grotto, processions, music, vintage rides, fancy dress and more, culminating in a wonderful lantern procession and carol concert in the local park, the day is a great opportunity to visit the town with the whole family and eat, drink and enjoy yourself. You can even stock up on Christmas presents from the lovely local shops or the various markets and stalls in the town.

The Grinch!
For this event, Ventnor magically turns into Ventnorville for about 36 hours! The whole town gets a festive and colourful air with street decorations, bunting, lights and people walking around in fancy dress costumes. We are always honoured by a visit from Father Christmas and from the Grinch himself, and this year the Grinch is inviting all his cartoon friends to join him, including fairy princesses, super heroes, Aladdin (Thanks to the cast of Ventnor’s own theatre group Panto which also takes place over this weekend) and many more.

Join in the fun
Check back on this page or follow our Facebook page for updates on the day, and see events as they are added. Kids (and adults) are very welcome to join in the fun and come in fancy dress – in Ventnorville, anything goes as long as it is colourful and fun! Even pets can join in by entering into the Dog Fancy Dress competition, with some lovely and tasty treats on offer as prizes! Kids can enjoy a treasure hunt with smart phones, little ones will enjoy the Santa Dash on the beach, and all the shops, restaurants, cafés and pubs will be open.

Free Parking
To make it easier for people coming from further afield, many of the car parks in town offer free parking on the Saturday (please see our printed programme or this page nearer the date for details), or if you prefer to use public transport, both the number 3 and number 6 bus stop right in the middle of town!
