Situated in the centre of the town, the Ventnor Heritage Museum is open to the public throughout the year and has regular themed exhibitions. There are many items of local interest on display – some of them quite unusual, like the old pier turnstile – alongside displays of photographs tracing Ventnor’s history. Also on view are working models of the two Ventnor railway stations, now sadly closed.
The museum opened in 1986 and stocks a wide selection of publications on local history produced by the Ventnor and District Local History Society. Research enquiries are always welcome.
